Dear WPHS Band Alumni,
During this 100-year celebration of Winter Park High School, we have just begun the 87th consecutive year of the Winter Park High School Band! We are focused once again on our mission this year and for the upcoming homecoming Alumni Band events. Click on the Homecoming Details tab above for all the information for this year. Also, take a moment now if you need to update your contact info by clicking on the Become a Member tab. Please encourage your band classmates to register as well. We will post information regarding events there as well as on our Facebook group page: Winter Park High School Alumni Band. Please join this FB group now if you haven’t already.
Purpose: For the 2026-27 school year, the fundraising purpose will be two fold. The Wind Symphony will be traveling to Boston this year and will need our financial support. In addition, the two new band trailers for the Sound of the Wildcats’ equipment need to have logos added. The financial needs of the band never cease, so please donate any amount today by clicking on Donate Now orange buttons at the bottom of every page on our website.
History: The WPHSBAA has donated over $69,500 to the band since it was founded in 2009. It was created to help offset the rising costs for a band program of this caliber, including purchasing/repairing instruments, ordering music, maintaining the trailers and uniforms for the Sound of the Wildcats Marching Band, and financing trips to showcase the ensembles’ extensive talent at festivals across the nation. Mike Clemente has now begun his 8th year as Director of Bands after 6 years as the Associate Director. His 13+ years of experience at WPHS will ensure that the traditions we cherish will be continued, especially our reunions and the annual homecoming events with the Alumni Band. We hope you can join us in the stands for homecoming on Friday, October 16th!
